MSU student won silver medal in National Karate tournament held at Dehradun

Suzan Shaikh, a Third year student of Faculty of Science, Statistics Department, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, secured 2nd Rank in the National Tournament of Karate held at Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She won the Silver medal in Under 21 plus 68 kg category in the All India Karate Championship held from 17th to 19th Feb, 2023Organised by Karate India Organization (KIO). Hailing from a sports family she got the support from her father Jahid Shaikh a football player to get into Karate and carry forward the legacy.

She is into this game for the last 10 years and played nationals many times in the past. She has a dream of representing India at International level and win medal for the country. Her brother Junaid Shaikh is also into Karate. A student of Statistics, Suzan Shaikh is also a NCC cadet from Army wing and waiting for the result of C certificate exam she appeared in recently. She wishes to join the Defence and also pursue her career in Karate, and eagerly waiting for her results.
