Nagaland: Will ensure NLTP Act is effectively enforced: DNSU

DIMAPUR: Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) along with its constituent units held an emergency meeting on Saturday to discuss the further course of action with regard to the 7-day ultimatum it served to the Excise Department.

In this regard, DNSU through its Media Cell extended its appreciation towards the prompt action taken under Zhaleo Rio, Advisor, for Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs. DNSU along with its Unit, “extends its fullest cooperation to the concerned department and enforcing authorities and also warned for stern action against those erring government officials if found indulging in malpractices,” the press release stated.

DNSU reaffirmed to remain vigil, act and make sure that the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989, is effectively enforced as long as the Act exists.

Further, DNSU acknowledged the support it received from the Naga Tribal Union Chumukedima Town Christian Forum Dimapur, Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation, Central Nagaland Tribes Council, Dimapur Ao Baptist Pastors’ Fellowship and other well-wishers.
