Covid 19 : Sikkim CM takes part in PM’s Live! VC session from NIC Hub Sikkim, Gangtok

On Saturday , PM Sh Narendra Modi interacted with Chief Ministers of States where Sikkim CM Sh PS Tamang (Golay) also took participation from Video Conference VC Studio of National Informatic Centre NIC Sikkim , Gangtok hub Live! VC sesson was also accompanied by Home Minister Shri. Amit Shah, Defence Minister Shri. Rajnath Singh, Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan.

During the video conference it was agreed that all the states will follow the guidelines and decisions of the central government on COVID-19 lockdown and post lockdown situations.

Sikkim CM expressed happiness that till now 56 tests which have been conducted in our state have all come out to be negative. Till this VC session (Saturday) afternoon 950 students of Sikkim stranded outside has been provided with financial assistance of Rs. 5000 per students, CM says.

Similarly, patients who are obtaining medical treatment outside Sikkim are also provided with financial assistance by the government.
So far, fortunately no positive case of COVID-19 has been reported from Sikkim but we should be very vigil and take utmost care and should not let any sort of complacency to creep in.

Expressing deepest and heartfelt gratitude toward the people of Sikkim for their support and cooperation that without their participation it would not have been possible to keep COVID-19 at bay, CM reiterated.

“Similarly, special mention for help, support and cooperation by the line departments who has been working tirelessly. I am  pleased to acknowledge the efforts of Transport Department  providing all goods including fuel required for the security forces in the international border. I also express my gratitude towards the Denzong Co-operative for providing food and other essential items to the security forces in the high altitude areas of our international border”.

CM urges all the citizens to be calm and composed during this period. We will be holding a cabinet on tuesday, 15th April 2020 for taking further decision on the challenges being faced because of the COVID 19.
