West Bengal: Schools, colleges shut till June 10; officials draw up new plans

KOLKATA: The uncertainty over suspension of classes due to lockdown and whether to integrate it with the summer vacation came to an end on Saturday with CM Mamata Banerjee announcing that schools and education institutions will remain closed till June 10.
The announcement sent school officials scurrying to the drawing board as they began to chalk out an alternative plan to complete the syllabus after the prolonged closure. The summer holiday is usually a month-long. But due to the lockdown, it will now stretch over three months.
