In a bid to regulate the unnecessary movement of vehicles amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the West Siang district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has decided to implement the odd-even policy in the district post lockdown 4.0.The decision to implement the same was taken during a meeting held under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner Moki Loyi in Aalo on Thursday.
As per the policy, odd-numbered and even-numbered vehicles will ply on the roads on alternate days.Government vehicles will be exempted from the purview of the order for office work, however, they will not be allowed to ply in the market areas, officials said.
During the meeting, DC Loyi called upon the administration and police to strictly implement the order following its wide publicity and awareness.“There is no room for complacency on lockdown relaxation now after two positive cases has been detected in the state. The virus is also multiplying in an alarming rate in our neighboring state (Assam),” he said.
