Autumn session of Meghalaya Assembly will have six working days

The autumn session of the tenth Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will have six working days.
The nsession begins from September 6 and will conclude on September 13.
The meeting was attended by deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong, leader of opposition Mukul Sangma and former Speaker, Charles Pyngrope.
Private members’ business is scheduled on September 9, 11 and 12.
Later, Mukul Sangma said that he has requested to increase the number of days for the session as enough time is needed to discuss important issues confronting the State and the people.
Informing that the need to fill up the Speaker’s post was also discussed during the BAC meeting, the Leader of Opposition said, “We have proposed that the election may be fixed in one of the two days allotted for government’s business.”
The Speaker’s post in the Assembly has fallen vacant after the death of Dr Donkupar Roy on July 28 last.
