The 14-year-old minor from Tripura, who was rescued from Jaipur in Rajasthan, has tested positive for COVID-19. She is now undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Rajasthan. A case against those involved in the buying and selling of the girl has also been registered with the Fatikroy Police station in Tripura.

The 14-year-old minor, who originally hails from Unokoti district of Tripura, was sold to a family in Rajasthan for Rs 1.50 lakh. There she was repeatedly abused- both physically and mentally. When the family tried to resell her, the Rajasthan Child Right Commission got a tip and rescued her. It may be mentioned here that the minor is two-month pregnant.
