The US Senate has relieved Donald Trump of impeachment charges just before the presidential election in the US. The US Senate has given a clean chit to President Donald Trump on all charges in impeachment trials. Along with this, he has also been acquitted on charges of obstructing the Congress. The Senate voted today on the Trump impeachment motion, after which the Senate took the decision. In the trial held on Wednesday (local time), Trump was found not guilty of misusing power by a margin of 52–48 votes.

After this, Trump was acquitted by a margin of 53–47 votes on the second allegation of impeachment, obstructing the work of Congress. Earlier, Republican Senator Mitt Rooney said he would vote to convict Trump on both charges. Trump’s Republican Party has a majority in the Chamber by a margin of 53–47 and a two-thirds majority was required to prove the allegation. Even if all Democrats had voted to convict Trump, 20 more votes would have been needed to convict Trump and step down.
