Fear of infiltration by terrorists via Nepal, alert issued on India-Nepal border

An alert has been sounded on the Indo-Nepal border in view of the possibility of infiltration of terrorists through Nepal. The Superintendent of Police of Pithoragarh reached Jhulaghat late evening and took stock of the security arrangements at the border. In the Pithoragarh district, the Kali River divides the borders of India and Nepal.
Around 180 km long border is transported by six Jhulapulas. The people of both the countries visit this border without any hindrance due to the relationship between the roti-beti. The SSB has been deployed to monitor unwanted activities along the border.
According to the police, after the Abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, Pakistani terrorists are engaged in various attempts to infiltrate India. Tensions remain on the India-Pakistan border. It is feared that terrorists may attempt to infiltrate the Indian border via Nepal during the Diwali festival.
Security agencies have become active after this report of intelligence agencies. Pithoragarh Superintendent of Police Ramchandra Rajguru reached Jhulaghat late evening. He inspected the border. He then instructed police officers and jawans to remain alert and conduct regular patrols. Later the Superintendent of Police also spoke to the Nepal Police officials in this regard.
Security agencies have been instructed to remain alert regarding the possibility of disturbances at the border. Terrorists can use this range for infiltration. In view of this apprehension, the border was inspected at Jhulaghat. There is a ten day alert. Police personnel posted on the border police station areas have been instructed to remain vigilant.
