Senior Diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the new Ambassador of India to the US. He is currently the Ambassador of India to Sri Lanka. Taranjit Singh Sandhu will replace Harshvardhan Shringla in America. Please tell that Harshvardhan Shringla has been appointed as the new Foreign Secretary of India.

Let us tell you that Taranjit Singh Sandhu was also the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Washington before his deployment to Sri Lanka. He has also served as Consul General of India in Frankfurt from September 2011 to July 2013.

Sandhu has worked in the Ministry of External Affairs from March 2009 to August 2011 as Joint Secretary (United Nations) and later as Joint Secretary (Administration) in the Human Resources Department. Apart from this, he has served in the permanent mission of India to the United Nations from July 2005 to February 2009.
